Method for reducing welding deformation of sheet metal parts

  1. Do not over weld

The more metal filling in the welding point will produce greater deformation force. Making the weld size correctly can not only obtain small welding deformation, but also save welding materials and time. The amount of weld metal for filling the weld shall be the minimum, the weld shall be flat or slightly convex, and excessive weld metal will not increase the strength. On the contrary, it will increase the shrinkage force and welding deformation.

2. intermittent weld

Another way to reduce weld filling is to use discontinuous welding more. If the reinforcing plate is welded, intermittent welding can reduce the weld filling by 75% and ensure the required strength.
